Job description
TAG provides development and operations consulting for Public Housing Authorities. We often represent clients in negotiations with private developers, lenders and investors and lead real estate development projects. TAG supports housing authorities with HUD related development activities including mixed finance, RAD, demolition and disposition, acquisition approvals, designated housing plans, and other requirements. We have worked with Housing Finance Agencies across the country to secure allocations of Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) funding.
TAG is currently seeking to hire a Research Associate with strong analytical, financial, and written communication skills. He/She/They will work on real estate development and strategic planning projects. The Research Associate will work directly under the Senior Associate and may provide support to other TAG senior staff. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Research state and federal housing program and funding regulations and apply findings to on-going and impending real estate projects.
- Assist in applying for state and federal funding for housing development projects on behalf of clients.
- Take part in all aspects of the development process for new construction and rehabilitated affordable housing projects, from conception to financial closing and through construction completion and re-occupancy.
- Perform financial analysis and document review of pending and potential real estate projects.
- Organize and manipulate data-sets for clients with large portfolios.
- Data collection and analysis.
- Assist with drafting proposals to engage new clients.
- Writing memos summarizing recommendations based on analysis.
Requirements:
- Strong interest in affordable housing and real estate development
- MS 365; Teams; and strong Excel skills
- Understanding of basic financial concepts
- Strong writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degrees in: Planning, Finance, Real Estate and/or Urban Planning.
